Data Updated and Enhanced

ArcView Business Analyst 1.1 Now Available

Businesses collect and maintain large quantities of data associated with geographic locations that can be illustrated and interactively managed on a map. ArcView Business Analyst allows Business professionals to create maps and generate reports that let them identify patterns and understand relationships that were previously unnoticed--thereby increasing profitability.

And now Esri is very proud to announce that ArcView Business Analyst 1.1, featuring 1999 data, is available. The award-winning ArcView Business Analyst integrates current year data sets and offers two demographic data options.

This out-of-the-box solution features the following:

  • Business Information--1999 nationwide Business data with SIC codes, Business addresses, and employee and sales information from Dun & Bradstreet.
  • Consumer Information--Current year national household consumer file from Experian of more than 100 million households. The database includes 11 household composition attributes that can be used for Business analysis. Mailing lists can be ordered from Experian.
  • Street Information--Nationwide street database in the NAD83 coordinate system from Wessex, a division of Geographic Data Technology, Inc. (GDT), that enhances TIGER 1997 source data.
  • Nationwide Demographic Information--Users can choose one of these two data providers:
    • Applied Geographic Solutions, Inc., offers more than 245 variables for current-year and five- and ten-year projections along with current-year estimates for daytime population by occupation, disposable income, climate data, crime indexes, and consumer expenditures by state, county, ZIP Code, tract, and block group level.
    • CACI Marketing Systems offers 200 variables for current-year and five-year projections along with current-year estimates for daytime population, net worth, disposable income, consumer expenditures, and, at the census tract level, ACORN market segmentation data.

ArcView Business Analyst 1.1 ships with a suite of Esri GIS software including ArcView GIS 3.2 and ArcView Network Analyst. It also includes an enhanced QMS geocoder from QMSoft, which provides improved address standardization and batch geocoding.

Seagate Software's Crystal Reports 7.0, standard in ArcView GIS 3.2, provides ArcView Business Analyst users additional report templates.
