The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) is celebrating its 44th Annual Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, September 26�29, 2006. The theme of this annual gathering of GIS professionals is Challenge the Limits. The conference will feature plenary sessions, preconference workshops, an exhibition, and more than 70 concurrent sessions.

The Bahamas is the site of URISA's 3rd Caribbean GIS Conference. The conference is being chaired by Carolann Albury, director of the Bahamas National GIS Centre, and the conference committee boasts well-respected GIS professionals from the region. The conference will be held at the Atlantis Resort, October 29�November 2, 2006.
