Salton Sea AtlasIn a joint effort with the Salton Sea, California, Database Program at the University of Redlands, Esri Press will publish its first atlas-Salton Sea Atlas. The Salton Sea Database Program has been using GIS technology to provide the Salton Sea community of stakeholders with data and analytical tools that will foster better understanding of the Salton Sea's complex and unique environment. Salton Sea Atlas is one important outcome of that work. The atlas provides comprehensive statistical information about the Salton Sea's plant and animal life, as well as other aspects of its environment, in a variety of visually compelling maps. The issues at the center of the restoration effort at the Salton Sea are the same issues affecting literally thousands of other plant, animal, and human communities around the world. Esri Press hopes Salton Sea Atlas will serve as a template for other regional and environmental communications to stakeholders in the future. Salton Sea Atlas (ISBN 1-58948-043-0) is available from www.esri.com/esripress or call 1-800-447-9778 to place an order. Visit www.esri.com/shop to purchase Esri Press books online.
