3D symbols including palm trees and textures on the buildings and ocean add realism to ArcGIS 3D Analyst. More than 500 real-world features are included.

ArcGIS 3D Analyst provides a complete solution for three-dimensional visualization and analysis. ArcGIS 9 3D Analyst adds support for true three-dimensional symbology to enhance scientific visualization and real-world simulation. GIS features can be represented with 3D symbology, such as houses or cars for point features, grass or water texture fills for polygon features, and tubes or textured lines for line features.

Style libraries are included with ArcGIS 9 3D Analyst to give users more than 500 real-world symbols to choose from, including houses, skyscrapers, industrial buildings, street furniture, trees, and vehicles. In addition, any TrueType symbol can be used as the base for a symbol and can be easily extruded to represent a three-dimensional object. This gives users access to the thousands of symbols included with ArcGIS Desktop in addition to many more available on the market.

ArcGIS 9 3D Analyst also supports specialized three-dimensional models, such as MultiGen OpenFlight, Virtual Reality Modeling Language, and the 3D Studio format, to allow more realistic representation of three-dimensional features.

With ArcGIS 3D Analyst, users can visualize extremely large data sets at a local or global perspective with the new ArcGlobe application and add symbology that emulates the real world.
