Education Program Now Includes Free Access to Virtual Campus Courses

Esri Higher Education Site Licenses and LAB KITs just got better. Higher Education ArcView/ArcGIS Site Licenses, ArcView Suite School District Site Licenses, and Higher Education ArcGIS LAB KITs now include a free Esri Virtual Campus standard subscription. The subscription gives faculty, staff, and students access to self-paced courses authored by Esri technology experts and delivered online through the Esri Virtual Campus. The courses provide hands-on training in Esri software including ArcView 3.x and ArcGIS.

Institutions with a valid Higher Education Site License and the ArcView Suite School District Site License have unlimited access to select Esri GIS technology courses. Institutions with the Higher Education ArcGIS LAB KIT are eligible for up to 100 free seats. When the Site License or LAB KIT is renewed, the free Esri Virtual Campus subscription is automatically renewed as well.

The subscription gives educators an efficient way to enroll themselves and their students in Virtual Campus courses, which are valuable aids to classroom teaching. Professor Hugh Devine of North Carolina State University (NCSU) reports, "Student response to the Esri program has been uniformly high, and course performance (i.e., median grade) has risen appreciably. Most of the students feel they optimized their learning investment by combining the NCSU material and guidance with the Esri material." Hundreds of students at NCSU have taken Esri Virtual Campus courses through the University's subscription.
