Data Appliance for ArcGIS

Portal for ArcGIS does not include the basemaps, reference layers, specialty maps, and geocoding and routing task services hosted and published by Esri through ArcGIS Online. While Portal for ArcGIS can be configured to combine access to Esri's public ArcGIS Online site by creating a hybrid cloud environment (intranet and internet), organizations can also license Data Appliance for ArcGIS and keep their Portal for ArcGIS completely private.

Data Appliance for ArcGIS is a turnkey solution that provides terabytes of worldwide basemaps and reference layers, along with geocoding and routing, preloaded onto a network-attached storage device that plugs right into your organization's internal network.

Deployment and Hosting

Portal for ArcGIS can be implemented, configured, and deployed by the organization behind its firewall.
