Prague Energy Gains Flexibility with Esri ELA

Redlands, California—Prague Energy (PRE) has signed an enterprise license agreement (ELA) with Esri distributor ARCDATA PRAHA in the Czech Republic. This makes PRE the second Czech utility with unlimited access to Esri’s ArcGIS platform.

PRE serves nearly 700,000 consumption points. Unlimited access to ArcGIS is enabling the utility to make, edit, and share data-driven maps across its organization.

Everyone from administrators to fieldworkers in disconnected environments can now access, contribute to, and make decisions based on information held in PRE’s central geodatabase. More than 10 percent of the utility’s employees use ArcGIS applications on desktops or web browsers.

"With this ELA, we hope to meet the growing demands on the use of GIS in our enterprise," PRE chief information officer Miroslav Hübner said. "Moreover, the license enables us to deploy GIS flexibly according to our current needs. It also provides us a lot of flexibility into the future."

Among PRE’s first initiatives is exploring ArcGIS mobile solutions for deploying GIS in its field operations as well as building web maps to empower employees to access information quickly.

PRE celebrates its customer-centric motto Convenient Energy for You. It hopes the unlimited ArcGIS deployment throughout its utility results in more convenient information-based experiences for employees.
