What's New in ArcGIS Data Pipelines (February 2026)

By Albert Schelin and Sarah Hanson

ArcGIS Data Pipelines streamlines the way in which organizations are able to ingest, prepare, and maintain data in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise. With a visual drag-and-drop interface that minimizes the need for coding skills, Data Pipelines helps you reduce the time needed to transform your data into ready-to-use feature layers. And, with its support for task scheduling, you can automate your data pipelines to run on a defined interval, ensuring the information in your maps and apps is timely and up to date.

This update to ArcGIS Data Pipelines in ArcGIS Online focuses on enhanced observability, expands the list of supported input data sources, and delivers an improved user experience when working with tools. Let’s jump in and take a closer look at what’s new.

What’s New

Email notifications for failed data pipeline task runs (Beta)

Staying informed about the health of your data flows is essential, especially when your maps and apps depend on reliable updates. With this update, data pipeline owners can now opt in to email notifications for failed data pipeline task runs.

This enhancement gives you immediate visibility when something goes wrong so you can take quick action, troubleshoot, and keep your feature layers up to date. Notification control is now in your hands, providing more confidence and transparency in automated workflows.

New Inputs: Secure URLs and Databricks

With the February update, Data Pipelines now supports connections to secure URLs and Databricks tables, expanding the range of data sources you can connect to and integrate with ArcGIS.

Originally introduced in beta last June, these inputs are now generally available and ready for production use. With native support for Databricks and secure URLs built in, organizations using ArcGIS Online can now seamlessly integrate data from these highly requested sources without workarounds or custom code and use it to power their mapping and analytics workflows.

Enhancements to the Update fields tool

The Update fields tool has been enhanced with the ability to perform additional field type conversions, including additional numeric types as well as date and geometry types. To make date and geometry configuration even easier, we’ve also added the option to automatically apply suggested updates. That means Data Pipelines will sample your data, look for values that could be a date or geometry, and then automatically configure that update for you!

Along with these new capabilities, the tool now features an updated interface for a clearer, more intuitive user experience. Whether you’re standardizing field names or configuring complex dates or geometry formats, these improvements help you get the job done faster and more accurately.

Summary

The February 2026 update to ArcGIS Data Pipelines brings enhancements that strengthen observability, broadens the list of supported input data sources, and delivers improvements to usability.

We can’t wait to see how you put these new features to use.
