The October 2025 Esri Demographics release expands coverage across North America, Africa, and Europe with new variables, updated vintages, and enhanced country datasets. From broadening consistency in global data to deepening advanced coverage in markets like Canada, and France, this update provides richer insights for users making decisions with location-based data.

Standard Demographics
The following updates have been made to Standard Demographics.
North America
Esri Standard Demographics has been refreshed for 26 countries across North America, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and several smaller island nations. These updates reflect 2025 data vintages (from 2023) and include new variables for Aruba, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Greenland, Jamaica, Mexico, Montserrat, and Panama. Users will find these updates in ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App, the ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service, and apps that access location data. They are sourced from Michael Bauer Research.
New variables
- Aruba—Gender, 15-year Agebands, and Unemployed
- Bermuda—Households, Gender, 15-year Agebands, and Unemployed
- Costa Rica—Unemployed
- Cayman Islands—15-year Agebands and Marital Status
- Dominican Republic—Marital Status and Education

Removed variables
Education variables (such as EDUC01_CY, EDUC_BASE) were removed. These variables will be replaced with a new standardized variable (SEDUC01_CY.) This change impacts Bahamas, Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Greenland, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, and U.S. Virgin Islands.
Updated variables
Consumer spending variables have changed variable names and IDs. This change only impacts Mexico for the North America update.
Africa
Esri Standard Demographics data will also include changes across Africa for October 2025. Forty-six countries have been updated with 2025 vintage data, expanding consistency and comparability across the continent. New variables have been added for the Republic of Congo, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Senegal, Togo, and Zimbabwe, enabling deeper regional analysis. Like the North America updates, these datasets are accessible through ArcGIS Business Analyst Web and the GeoEnrichment Service. They are sourced from Michael Bauer Research.

This change only impacts Algeria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Reunion, South Africa, Tanzania, and The Gambia.
Updated variables
Consumer spending variables have changed variable names and IDs. This change only impacts Ghana, Mauritius, Reunion, Tunisia, and South Africa for the Africa update.
Advanced Demographics
The following updates have been made to Advanced Demographics.
Canada
For Canada, Environics Analytics has delivered significant updates, including a vintage refresh from 2024 to 2025 and an extension of the DemoStats Trends dataset by one additional year.
The Household Spend survey also underwent a major redesign that introduces 145 new variables, retires 162 variables, and updates variable names, IDs, and descriptions. This data can be accessed in ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service and apps that access location data, ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise. France
France has been updated to 2025 vintage (from 2022), introducing four new household-related variables while retiring 14 variables tied to population and housing. Data is available in both English and French; however, the ArcGIS Pro data package will be new and only available in French. This data can be accessed through the ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service and apps that access location data, including ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App and ArcGIS Pro.
