ArcGIS for Power BI Licensing

ArcGIS for Power BI works with Power BI Desktop and service and all three versions—free, Pro, and Premium. All Power BI users can access it as a standard user at no cost. If you would like to unlock additional mapping and analysis capabilities, you'll need an ArcGIS login. A Creator user type not only provides more features but also gives you complete access to ArcGIS Online, Esri's flagship cloud-based mapping software, and the add-on applications that come with it. Use the table below to find the difference between the two user types.

Anyone can view publicly shared Power BI reports with ArcGIS maps. To view privately shared reports with confidential ArcGIS content, you can use any ArcGIS user type license.
