For nearly 25 years, arx iT has designed, maintained and continuously modernized the Canton of Geneva’s real-time traffic information platform, providing web and mobile access to dynamic road traffic information through an interactive geographic interface. This exceptional longevity reflects both the sustainability of the solution and arx iT’s long-term expertise across multiple generations of Esri technology. Over almost a quarter of a century, the platform has evolved through major ArcGIS technology transitions, from ArcIMS to ArcGIS Server and today ArcGIS Enterprise. Throughout these successive generations, arx iT has continuously adapted the platform, its architecture and applications while preserving service continuity and integrating evolving geospatial and real-time traffic data requirements. Today, the solution combines Esri ArcGIS technologies, Web GIS, mobile access, real-time traffic information and geospatial data integration to provide an up-to-date geographic view of mobility conditions across the Geneva area. This long-running project demonstrates arx iT’s expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, Enterprise GIS modernization, legacy GIS migration, Real-Time GIS, Web GIS, system integration, application maintenance and the long-term lifecycle management of mission-critical geospatial platforms.
