Free Esri Publications

Along with its extensive GIS software and advanced mapping capabilities, Esri provides numerous periodicals to keep customers updated on company news, products, and events. Since 1979, when the first issue of ArcNews was launched, Esri has expanded its information base by adding several new offerings. Now, Esri has more than 25 different publications, ranging from printed magazines to electronic e-mail newsletters, all with the GIS user in mind. Each publication targets a specific audience, focusing on subjects applicable to individual interests and industry expertise. Any Esri publication can be subscribed to free of charge by simply going to www.esri.com/subscribe. Here are two examples.

Government Matters

Government Matters is a quarterly newsletter that highlights local and state governments that use GIS to improve business processes and service to citizens. Articles focus on GIS applications and processes, as well as how organizations use GIS to overcome challenges and improve productivity and efficiency. The publication includes news about events that give government users opportunities to network and learn more about GIS solutions, as well as other announcements that are important to this community. Government Matters has a circulation of more than 150,000 and is available through a free subscription or in PDF format at www.esri.com/governmentmatters.

ArcWatch

ArcWatch is a monthly e-magazine that features lively articles about how GIS is changing our world, innovative uses for Esri technology, and useful tips on how to use Esri software. Readers also receive news about the latest product updates; software evaluations; and upcoming events, such as the Esri International User Conference. Subscribe to ArcWatch.
