Who uses ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting?
ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting offers specialized high volume aeronautical data management and production tools. These capabilities allow the Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) user community to produce and maintain high-quality international specification compliant products with a significant amount of automation. Outside the AIM community, ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting is used by civil aviation authorities and military air forces around the world.
What are the various data models available in ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting?
ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting, at 10.2, supports the Aeronautical Information System (AIS) data model which is Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) compliant. The AIS is fully extensible to meet the needs of individual users.
What do I get when I purchase ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting?
ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting is bundled with components for data quality control, cartographic product generation, and workflow management for AIM users. New symbols and styles can be developed based on chart requirements. Tools and techniques from the configuration class will be useful in accomplishing any customization needs.
Can I use the current version of ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting with an older version of ArcGIS?
No. To install and function correctly, the versions must match. For example, ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting 10.2.2 requires ArcGIS 10.2.2.
