Note: Esri has extended the availability of Concurrent Use licensing for ArcGIS Desktop (ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap) to all customers. Read the full announcement.
At Esri we focus on supporting your GIS efforts. Based on research and working directly with you, we have learned about your needs regarding licensing.
Concurrent Use Licensing At 10.5
Concurrent Use licensing is still supported. Users with a Concurrent Use license on maintenance will be able to continue using their Concurrent Use licensing and purchase additional Concurrent Use licenses if needed. At 10.5 and beyond, you can continue to do things the way you always have using your Concurrent Use license.
If you are not current on maintenance for your Concurrent Use licenses, you can take advantage of an offer to get up to three Single Use licenses for every one Concurrent Use license you currently have. If you do not have a Concurrent Use license, your new licenses will be Single Use or Identity licenses.
Why Identity Licensing and Named Users?
The Identity licensing structure answers your need for improved administrative capabilities. It’s an efficient, secure, and flexible licensing method that can be applied across the entire organization. Use it to gather user-level reporting on usage and ensure users have the software and privileges they need. You will also be able to identify authoritative named users and their content.
Identity assures that you have control over who has access to the private information of your organization. Identity licensing gives your named users access to ArcGIS maps and apps from any device using a unique, secure identity. You can join private groups, find resources, and share geographic information. Identity in ArcGIS lets you own your work and share it on your terms. You and your users can choose to keep items private, shared only within the organization, or shared with the world.
The identity (Named User credential) associates people in your organization with ArcGIS privileges no matter where they are. Users can log into any Esri supported app on any Esri supported device to access their maps, apps, data, and analysis. Users can also access ArcGIS Pro and a growing list of app builders, connectors, and ready-to-use apps including Collector for ArcGIS, Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Open Data, Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Maps for Office.
We appreciate all the great work you do. We continually strive to provide you with the best experience possible.
