Workforce for ArcGIS 1.0.0 Release

By Jeff Shaner

It’s here! The first official release of Workforce for ArcGIS is now available inside of ArcGIS Online, out in the field on your iOS devices, and it’s just included with your subscription!!

Workforce enables a common view in the field and the office. You can get the right worker to the right place with the right tools to do the right job. It includes a web app you can use to create and assign work to mobile workers, who use the mobile app to work through their personal To Do list.

Who uses it?

Organizations use Workforce to fuse work management into the ArcGIS platform. It improves the efficiency of your field workforce when:

  • Inspecting valves and meters
  • Qualifying sales leads
  • Completing service requests
  • Coordinating capital improvement projects
  • Scheduling and finish one call tickets
  • Responding to unplanned events

What’s Included with Workforce for ArcGIS?

GIS Analysts and Field Managers can use the workforce.arcgis.com web app to create workforce projects for your mobile workers and dispatch work to them. It provides a common view of the location and status of your field workforce.

Mobile workers can download and use the Workforce iOS app to view their personal To Do list, interact with other ArcGIS apps (Navigator for ArcGIS, Collector for ArcGIS and Survey123 for ArcGIS) and broadcast their working status and location with others.

The Workforce Android app is in beta now and a Windows 10 beta version will be available in beta soon. Workforce will support Portal for ArcGIS with ArcGIS Server 10.5.
