The poll results are in! We asked our StoryMaps community to vote for your favorite story to recreate during our August ArcGIS StoryMaps Live, and you answered.

Before we reveal the story, if you’re new here, ArcGIS StoryMaps Live is a series of team-hosted webinars that are live and free. Consider it your opportunity to connect directly with the StoryMaps team. This episode will feature a demonstration on how to use one of our most effective storytelling techniques — map and image choreography. After the demo, you’ll have the opportunity to ask the team your questions during the Q&A portion of the webinar.

In case you missed the poll announcement on our social media channels, X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn, as well as our community page, the three options were:

An ArcGIS StoryMaps cover shows a prairie dog, which is a tan mammal the size of a chihuahua, standing on its back legs and an inset of a map next to it.

Little hero on the prairie

The unsung steward of North America’s
grassland ecosystem

A cornfield during sunset has an inset of an infographic of agricultural land use.

American agriculture by the numbers

Explore maps of the 2022
U.S. Census of Agriculture data

Building for tomorrow

one neighborhood at a time

We encourage anyone planning to enter our 2025 StoryMaps competition to attend this webinar since we will be using Living Atlas of the World resources during the demonstration. You’ll also have a chance to ask us questions and help inform our future workshop topics.

If you want more background on how to use StoryMaps before joining the map choreography webinar, check out our ArcGIS StoryMaps Live April 2025 Webinar: Planning, outlining, and theming your story recording to see an introduction to using the StoryMaps builder or an introduction to the Briefings builder.

And (drum roll) the winner is:
