Announcing the 2024 Network Management Release Plan

Starting in 2021, we designated specific long-term support releases of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro as Network Management releases. We recommend our ArcGIS Utility Network customers and partners remain on or upgrade to these versions of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro. To date, we have announced two Network Management Release plans, first in 2022 and the second in 2023. The advantage to being on a Network Management release is the promise of regular patches for both ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro directly related to utility network workflows.

Today, we are excited to announce the 2024 Network Management Release plan, consisting of ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 and ArcGIS Pro 3.3. These new versions are set for release in May, 2024.

ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 and ArcGIS Pro 3.3 include new features and enhancements offering utilities with even more efficient ways to manage their networks. Additionally,  they  will include new functionality and bug fixes to ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing. For customers using ArcGIS Utility Network and ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing together, the necessary patches and hotfixes to Pipeline Referencing that impact them will be provided in accordance with the ArcGIS Pro 3.3 timeline of 2 years.

As with previous Network Management Releases, ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 will receive four years of support with utility network related patches and hot fixes, while ArcGIS Pro 3.3 will receive similar support for two years from their respective release dates. This extended support period ensures that utilities can confidently rely on these versions for their network management needs, as they get the most value out of their time & effort invested in the update process . More details about support can be found in our product life cycle policy.

We believe the 2024 Network Management Release provides a valuable opportunity for our customers to maximize their investment. Whether you’re just starting to migrate to the ArcGIS Utility Network in 2024 or have been using earlier Network Management Releases, the latest versions of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro offer you the most up-to-date features available. The following timeline diagram will help you to get a holistic understanding of our support timelines for the upcoming and past Network Management releases.

Our commitment to compatibility means that newer versions of ArcGIS Pro integrate seamlessly with older versions of ArcGIS Enterprise. For instance, if you need to continue using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1, you can confidently pair it with ArcGIS Pro 3.3. This compatibility ensures a smooth upgrade experience across different versions of the software, giving you the stability and reliability you need. But remember, in order to take advantage of all the latest features, our general recommendation is for you to consider the latest Network Management Release, as outlined in the timeline diagram above.

Thank you for being a valued part of our community. We look forward to supporting you on your journey toward modern, efficient, and sustainable network management.
