Map Lounge

July 13–16, 2026

Sails Pavilion | Upper Level of the San Diego Convention Center

Relax and admire the art of mapmaking in the Map Lounge

Opens on Monday, July 13, with the Map Gallery Reception

Maps do more than mark locations—they illuminate solutions, inspire action, and bring us together.

To support different ways of learning and connecting, the Map Lounge is organized into six themed zones. These offer everything from additional seating—one of our most requested amenities—to charging stations, hands-on learning, storytelling, and informal conversations.

Lunch will be offered Tuesday through Thursday, with convenient grab‑and‑go meal options available for purchase. It’s a perfect way for attendees to refuel on-site while staying connected to the energy of the Esri UC experience.

Storytelling with Maps Zone

This zone celebrates the power of storytelling through maps by highlighting diverse voices, perspectives, and presentation styles. Special displays explore different storytelling approaches and formats—showcasing how maps can inform, inspire, and connect communities.

In addition, this area will host fireside chats Tuesday through Thursday, featuring conversations with users and experts in an informal, engaging setting. It’s a space to listen, learn, and be inspired by the stories behind the maps.

This zone offers a unique opportunity to engage one-on-one with leaders behind some of the most impactful GIS work being recognized at Esri UC.

Whether you’re brushing up on fundamentals or diving into something new, this zone supports active, experiential learning throughout the week.
