Health and safety requirements

Esri is committed to protecting the health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, employees, and presenters. We follow the established protocols from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and ask that all in-person event attendees to do the same. Esri will continue to assess the evolving public health guidance regarding large gatherings and adapt accordingly. General questions

Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. If you see or are the target of any inappropriate behavior or language, please report it to an Esri or conference staff member. We are dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment.

You can purchase Esri swag, books, and other items at the Esri store at the conference. Esri software licenses are also available to purchase online.

Upon request, we can provide a certificate of attendance after the event. Email to request your certificate. Unfortunately, we do not offer continuing education credits for attending the Esri User Conference.

Registration and badge pickup is located in the San Diego Convention Center as well as in hotels where Esri UC events are located. New this year: You can also pick up your badge at the San Diego International Airport.

Registration questions

The cost of this event will vary depending on the attendee type. Please refer to the registration details page to find your applicable rate.

General registration will be offered on-site but will be limited. On-site registrants will be required to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19. Please note that cash is not accepted in payment for on-site registration.

Once you submit your registration online, you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. If we are unable to confirm the information you have provided, we will reach out to you.

For cancellations received after June 13, 2022, registrants will forfeit 50 percent of their registration fee. Confirmed registrants who do no not participate or who cancel after June 27, 2022, will forfeit their entire registration fee, and registrations received after this date will not be eligible for refunds. If you need to cancel due to special circumstances, please email with your request for review. Substitutions for registrants can be made at any time. Esri reserves the right to cancel any event or training if the minimum registration is not met. If Esri cancels an event, registration fees will be refunded. Canceling your registration does not automatically cancel your housing reservation, if applicable.

Health and safety questions

Vaccination checkpoints will be available at several locations around the event.

  • Attendees who have completed a CLEAR Health Pass can proceed to any GREEN vaccination checkpoint counter to show their verified pass in the CLEAR app.
  • Attendees who have not completed a CLEAR Health Pass can proceed to any BLUE vaccination checkpoint counter for manual screening.

Navigating the event after verification

Once your status is verified, you will receive a wristband and can proceed to the badge pickup area.

  • Wristbands will be required for entry into the convention center as well as all event areas and sessions.
  • We encourage you to keep your wristband on during your time at the event. If you remove your wristband, you will need to be re-verified at a vaccination checkpoint to receive a new one.

A person is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving either of the following:

  • The second dose in a two-dose series such as the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, BIBP, or Sinovac vaccines
  • A single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine

This guidance applies to COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the WHO or approved for full use by the FDA on or before January 25, 2022. The full list of emergency use and approved vaccines can be found on on this FDA web page.

Attendees who do not meet these requirements are not considered fully vaccinated and will not be permitted to attend Esri in-person events.

Yes, all attendees at this event must verify that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Esri supports the use of CLEAR Health Pass with the CLEAR app to verify vaccination. If you are unable to download and use CLEAR Health Pass as verification, you can provide your proof of vaccination on-site for manual screening at the Health Pass Help Desk.

Esri will be using CLEAR Health Pass to verify vaccination status. Note: Esri does not have access to any personal information that you submit to CLEAR Health Pass.

There are two options to digitally verify your COVID-19 vaccine with CLEAR:

  • Upload a photo of your CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card.
  • Digitally link your vaccination record from a health system or pharmacy.

Privacy is at the center of everything CLEAR does, and CLEAR is fully committed to protecting members' information. CLEAR does not sell or rent any personal information that you submit to Health Pass and will only use personal information to deliver a frictionless and secure experience. You can read more details about this on the CLEAR Privacy Policy page.

Select your vaccine provider from the menu or enter your provider's name in the search box. Log in to your patient portal and follow the instructions to securely link your account with CLEAR.

The CLEAR app is integrated with select health-care providers and pharmacies.

  • If you are unable to find your provider through a search, CLEAR may not be able to link to it at this time.
  • Check that your COVID-19 vaccine appears in your patient portal; if not, we recommend that you reach out to your provider directly.
  • Your results will link automatically; do not try to resync your results.
  • Sync time varies by provider and may take up to 30 minutes.

Once synced, proceed to complete your Health Pass.

When prompted, select add your vaccination card to upload a photo of your card.

Open the app and tap the Health Pass tile. Choose Open Health Pass to retrieve your result again.

Attendees who do not complete the Health Pass will be required to show their CDC vaccination card and photo ID at the Health Pass Help Desk.

No, you must show your Health Pass in the CLEAR app because it is a dynamic screen.

Your Health Pass is valid for 30 days. But if you used your Health Pass for  a previous event, you would need to add the event code for this event and reconfirm your identity by taking a selfie.

Although not required, we encourage attendees to practice social distancing measures, including keeping a physical distance of six feet where possible, as recommended by the CDC. Socially distanced seating options will be provided in all venues, including at all education sessions and networking events. Exhibit Halls will include wider aisles, and booths will be spaced apart.

We are working with our partners to ensure that CDC-recommended cleaning protocols are followed during this event and that high-touch surfaces are being thoroughly disinfected.

Yes, you should

  • Avoid attending the venue if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Engage in additional responsible health and safety practices, whether on or off the event premises.

Digital access questions

With digital access, you will be able to view select event content at your convenience. This includes livestreams of the Plenary Session and over 65 technical workshops. Visit the Detailed Agenda page to see which sessions will be streamed live. Sessions that will be available as livestreams are identified as hybrid sessions in the description.

Yes, anyone who has registered for the in-person event automatically receives digital access once it becomes available.

Digital access will begin on July 11, 2022, and it will be available for 90 days.

Select sessions will include interactive components, such as the ability to ask text-based questions and participate in polls during the scheduled times.

Select sessions will be available for viewing later the same day they've been shown and can be watched at any time once they are available.

Digital access for scheduled sessions of the Esri User Conference will be held in Pacific time (PT). All times listed on the sessions page are in PT.

Digital access to the Esri User Conference is supported on current nonbeta versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. Please note that Internet Explorer is not supported.
