Submission Deadline

Each entry must make use of one of the Esri Story Maps apps. The story map may be hosted anywhere, including by Esri, but the code must originate from an Esri Story Maps app. Contest participants may—and are encouraged to—alter or customize the Esri Story Maps apps to suit their needs.

    Winners publicly announced and awarded prizes at the Esri Awards Ceremony at Esri UC

Prizes


Esri will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes in each of the 5 categories, and one grand prize will be awarded to the Best Overall submission chosen by the contest judges. Winners will receive:

  • Grand Prize: one ArcGIS for Personal Use license valued at US $100, one Esri Technical Certification exam voucher valued at US $225, plaque, and certificate
  • 1st prize: one Esri Technical Certification exam voucher, plaque, and certificate    
  • 2nd prize: one Esri Press book, plaque, and certificate    
  • 3rd prize: one Esri Press book, plaque, and certificate   

Requirements


Each entry must make use of one of the Esri Story Maps apps. The story map may be hosted anywhere, including by Esri, but the code must originate from an Esri Story Maps app. Contest participants may—and are encouraged to—alter or customize the Esri Story Maps apps to suit their needs. You may enter story maps you’ve already created or brand new story maps.

All contest entries must be submitted during the contest period for consideration. Completion of the entry form is required.

Judging Criteria


Entries will be judged on the basis of effectiveness in making subject matter interesting and understandable; their provision of an engaging user experience; and their overall design, impact, and creativity. Judges appointed by Esri will determine the winners. In the event of a tie, Esri staff will decide the final winner.
