In this two-part video blog, we will discuss how to use a pair of Esri products to support criminal investigations. ArcGIS AllSource is a standalone and fully supported desktop GIS application configured for intelligence analysis. AllSource provides a bespoke experience with the intel analyst in mind, and its layout and configuration will immediately make sense to those focused on intelligence and investigative workflows. ArcGIS Knowledge brings graph analytics to AllSource or ArcGIS Pro and can be useful in interpreting very large datasets—including spatial and nonspatial, structured and unstructured data types. With ArcGIS Knowledge, you can discover hidden relationships in your data, including connections between persons, places, and events of interest in an investigation.
ArcGIS AllSource
ArcGIS AllSource supports advanced intelligence and investigative analysis workflows. It integrates data from multiple sources and performs spatial, temporal, and relational analysis on data to answer questions and make connections. AllSource supports data visualization in maps, link charts, graphs, timelines, and tables, and can produce interactive intelligence products to share with others. Common workflows AllSource supports include:
- Threat assessments
- Link analysis
- Investigative support
- Imagery exploitation
- Temporal analysis
- Geospatial data analysis

In today’s example, Ryan Lindemann will show us how AllSource works by using GIS to manage confidential informants, corroborate tips and leads, and create an interactive information product. Through this example, Ryan will show us how AllSource supports:
- The import, creation, editing, and management of spatial data
- Creation of interactive charts and timelines
- Movement analysis to track suspect activity over time
- Sharing of intelligence with stakeholders through interactive web apps
