When building high-quality location-based solutions, developers need to display maps, find places, geocode addresses, map routes, and enrich data. A group of ArcGIS services called Location Services makes all these possible.
In previous articles, we’ve highlighted the power of ArcGIS Location Services and how the teams bringing these capabilities to developers work tirelessly to make enhancements that keep the data up to date and improve the functionality of each service.
These improvements ensure that developers are successful in delivering high-performing applications and solutions that make life easier for end-users.
The most recent release of ArcGIS Location Services introduced several key enhancements across multiple services:
ArcGIS Geocoding Service
- Data updates to the service supports more accurate matching for Argentina, Canada, Greenland, Guatemala, Sweden, and Taiwan
ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service
- The GeoEnrichment service, which supports data enrichment for applications by providing demographic facts for locations around the world, also received significant updates to the data. Data refreshes for countries and territories in Eastern and Western Europe, updated crime index data and new boundaries were among some of the February 2026 release highlights. More information can be found in the Esri Demographic blog article.
The 2026 Esri Developer & Technology Summit presents a unique opportunity for developers to learn about the mapping and location capabilities that enhance their applications.
At the upcoming summit, our team of product experts will be hosting technical sessions that address the value of each Location Service, explore real-world use cases, highlight what’s new, and demonstrate how these services can be collectively utilized to create powerful location-based solutions.
Be sure to join the following technical sessions at the summit to learn more about the Location Services.
