With the most recent updates to the ArcGIS Geocoding service, we’re excited to offer new capabilities and expand the content available in the service output.
Quality improvements
- Address matching in Australia, Brazil, France, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain
API and service output changes
Match Narrative
- To improve the experience of geocoding large set of addresses, the returnMatchNarrativeparameter is now supported for geocodeAddresses and batchGeocode requests.
- To improve the use of match narrative codes in the service response, a new output field, matchNarrative, has been added to the responses for findAddressCandidates, geocodeAddresses, and batchGeocode requests. This new field returns the Match Narrative information as a string instead of a JSON object.
Intersection Matching
- A new API parameter is available, excludeIntersectionType, is now supported for findAddressCandidates, geocodeAddresses, batchGeocode, and suggest requests. It allows you to exclude certain intersection types from your geocoded results.
- There is now an additional value for the Type field – Virtual. This field value represents disconnected intersections where one street ends close to another.
Street Matching
- Support for StreetBetween has been added for Canadian addresses.
