Controlling Costs Keeps Customers Happy

Croatian Post is the national postal operator in Croatia. The organization employs approximately 10,000 workers in more than 1,000 postal offices throughout the country. To make delivery of 38 million parcels each year more efficient, Croatian Post embarked on a new development strategy. It wanted to stabilize its core business by streamlining transportation and reducing delivery and distribution costs.

What did they do?

GDi GISDATA, Esri’s distributor in Croatia, provided a solution based on the Esri®  ArcGIS®  platform that includes GDi’s ENSEMBLE Fleet product and Esri partner RouteSmart’s advanced routing technology. GDi’s ENSEMBLE Fleet tracks vehicles in real time and provides vehicle management for more than 3,000 Croatian Post vehicles. RouteSmart technology calculates optimized delivery routes. All data is managed, analyzed, and mapped through ArcGIS. As a result, the entire organization has one comprehensive view into all aspects of the posts’ activities.

Do I need this?

The ability to digitally monitor vehicle telematics means vehicle misuse has dramatically decreased and cost is better managed through automated expense data entry and per diem cost calculations. Using ArcGIS, Croatian Post increased its fleet efficiency by optimizing distribution on a daily basis and achieved significant savings in fuel consumption. Controlling costs means more can be invested into service, keeping customers happy.
