What’s new in ArcGIS Companion 2.4 (October 2019)

ArcGIS Companion v2.4 has just been released. We have added some exciting new features and improvements to the app. Here are the highlights of the release:

Support for ArcGIS public accounts

If you have a public account, you can now sign-in to Companion and browse, edit, share, and search content just as you would in the web app. You can also change your password and profile image, view notifications, and edit your bio and region settings.

Administrators can now delete members

In v1.4, we added support for adding members to the organization. In this release, administrators can now delete members too. Go to the Organization page, tap the Members tab, search for a member, tap the corresponding options menu, and choose Delete member. This operation is irreversible. Companion has the same messaging and validation that you’re used to—it will prevent you from deleting a member who owns items or groups.

Discover page enhancements

If a member has added content to their favorites, it will also appear on the Discover page. Plus, we have added a new section where you can view popular content within your organization based on different categories such as stories, dashboards, and so on.  Lastly, the Search button has been moved to the center for easier access.

Filters for Group content

We’ve added filters to improve browsing content within your groups. You can choose to sort the list and filter items based on content type, sharing, and content status.  To filter content, go to any group page, tap the Content tab, and tap the filter icon. The following screenshot illustrates applying filters to show only the maps in a group and to sort the filtered list by date modified.

Browse content in ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World

ArcGIS Online users can now browse and view Living Atlas content. Go to the Content page and choose the Living Atlas from the menu. You can also filter the content. The following screenshots illustrate browsing Living Atlas content as viewed by user signed in with a public account.
