Esri Demographics’ first release of 2024 will feature updates for users of traffic, crime and select global data to kick off the new year. The data will be available for users with an ArcGIS subscription through the following delivery mechanisms:
- ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App
- ArcGIS for Excel
- ArcGIS Insights
- ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service)
- ArcGIS for Power BI
Highlights for US data users: Traffic data and crime data
Traffic Data from Kalibrate. Esri partners with Kalibrate to provide Traffic Count datasets. The traffic data consists of annual daily traffic counts for a variety of traffic flows across the US.
Crime Indexes. Esri’s crime data can be used to compare the relative risk of crime types in a specific location compared to the rest of the US. This data has been updated via the latest release from Applied Geographic Solutions, Inc. (AGS).

How can users access global data included in the release?
Esri’s global data is offered in two ways: Through Esri Standard Demographics or Esri Advanced Demographics.
Esri Standard Demographics provide a consistent data source and methodology across more than 170 countries and regions. Many data variables are homogenous across these regions, allowing users to easily compare global markets and communities. The data source is Michael Bauer Research (MBR).
This release features Esri Standard Demographics updates for 21 countries in Europe: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK (all updated to 2023 vintage).
Esri Advanced Demographics provide a detailed set of data within a country or region and include more data variables or finer levels of geography than those available through Standard Demographics. Advanced Demographics are available for a limited set of countries or regions. The countries impacted for the February 2024 release are the following:
