By Katie Olson

Open data and geographic information system (GIS) technology play a crucial role in spurring projects that addresses climate change. The open data movement has democratized information access.

The tool serves as a valuable platform for accessing and utilizing open data, empowering communities to make informed decisions and contribute to climate resilience efforts. Podesta emphasizes that private sector projects that are informed by accessible, authoritative data are key to proactively combatting climate change impacts.
