Over the summer, the ArcGIS Hub team released several feature enhancements, making it easier for organizations to connect and collaborate with their communities. These changes and additions can always be found in our changelog. As summer comes to an end, let’s take a closer look at some of the highlights:
More Chart Options
ArcGIS Hub enables organizations to create custom websites and pages that showcase their data. These sites can be shared internally or publicly, and are a part of ArcGIS Hub initiatives. To make it simpler to share information in one place, the added ability to chart private data allows your teams, such as employees with access or who are logged in, to see charts of private data on publicly shared sites.
Using the chart card, you can now chart private data, even on public sites
Additional updates include the abilities to:
Create sites using scalable vector graphics (SVGs) and their underlying HTML elements
Configure the color of charts on your sites and pages
Specify font weight on site text
Redesigned Events
ArcGIS Hub also includes an events management system for quickly sharing information related to upcoming opportunities for involvement. Created by the initiative team, events link to the initiative site so that anyone can sign up to attend or follow an event for relevant updates. Enhancements to this feature include a mobile-first design, options to attend online and in-person, faster ways to update attendees of event changes, and added management options, including the ability to save the event as a draft or delete it permanently.

While you can send messages to community members at anytime, now, with ArcGIS Hub events, an update is automatically sent to all attendees in case you need to cancel or delete an event. You can optionally provide an explanation to keep everyone informed of the changes, and if needed, you can reactivate a cancelled event for another time.
New Developer Library
To help support developers, ArcGIS Hub has open sourced a key part of how it talks to the ArcGIS platform by being powered by ArcGIS Rest JS. If you’re interested in building a javascript application that talks to the ArcGIS platform, learn more at https://esri.github.io/arcgis-rest-js/
Beta Search Capabilities
A new beta search capability continues to develop with ways that simplify your data searches. Now, results return private items, viewable only to those with access via a restricted results catalog on the search page. Pages are also now searchable and can be accessed directly from the search results. Learn more about this capability and how you can enable it for your sites.
