Description:
CE Desktop EMF maps electromagnetic field exposure around antenna sites inside ArcGIS Pro. It is the EMF module of CE Desktop for ArcGIS Pro. Radio planners, tower companies and engineering consultancies use it to check a new mast, rooftop or indoor antenna against exposure limits before the site is built, and to prepare the maps that go into a permit application. Each run takes the raster resolution, a cell template for any missing parameter, a reflection factor (none, realistic or full) and a receiver height, so the same site can be checked under conservative and realistic assumptions. The calculation uses the real antenna patterns, transmit power, height, azimuth and tilt of every selected cell, so the contributions of several cells and operators on one mast or roof are added together. Antenna patterns are imported, created and checked in the Antenna Viewer, and cells can sit on the corners of a building as one site. Three rasters are added to the map: percentage of the applicable limit, electric field strength and power density. As ordinary ArcGIS Pro rasters they combine with parcels, schools or zoning layers and go into ArcGIS Pro layouts for approval documents. Runs are listed in the CE Calculation Task List. Buildings in the clutter layer are treated as solid obstacles, and the geodata can range from free global datasets to 1 m terrain and 3D building models; a workspace can also open a local scene for 3D viewing. The Profile tool, with reflection analysis, checks the path between an antenna and a point of interest. CE Desktop EMF shares its data model with CE Desktop RCP and connects to CE Server-Express, so a study made in ArcGIS Pro can move to CE Express EMF for national, multi-user work with reports and public portals.
