Description:
CE Server-Express is a multi-user web platform for radio network planning on ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online. Engineers sign in with their ArcGIS account and plan, predict and review the same network in a browser at the same time. Single sign-on and multi-factor authentication work as configured in ArcGIS, and results go back to the portal as layers for dashboards, web apps and other departments. The platform installs as one application on a Windows server that the customer controls: a 2D and 3D web interface, the CE Express REST API, calculation workers and a PostgreSQL database. Terrain, clutter and building data are stored on the server, so nothing is streamed while a prediction runs. The engine returns predictions in seconds at the resolution of the geodata: 5 m or 1 m in cities, and down to 20 cm where such data exists. More workers can be added as the load grows, and an optional NVIDIA GPU speeds up predictions further. CE Inventory3D, the network asset database, is part of every installation, so planned and live network data share one model. Licences are concurrent sessions: any number of ArcGIS users can be registered, only sessions in use are counted, and every function is available in every session. The functions are described as modules: CE Express RCP for coverage from 2G to 5G, Wi-Fi and public safety radio; CE Express RLP for microwave and mesh links and HCM cross-border coordination; CE Express EMF for exposure based on ITU-T K.52; and the CE Sound module for siren audibility to ISO 9613-2 and CNOSSOS-EU. The same platform calculates radar coverage, HF skywave (ITU-R P.533) and groundwave (ITU-R P.368), line of sight and illuminance (lux). Network data and the RF, radar, link and mesh calculations are also available through the documented REST API (OpenAPI 3), so OSS jobs, scripts and ArcGIS geoprocessing tools can load data, run predictions and collect results. Results are published to the portal by hand or automatically after each recalculation; on ArcGIS Enterprise this requires ArcGIS Image Server. CE Server-Express runs on premises, in any cloud or in a disconnected network, and power users work on the same data from CE Desktop for ArcGIS Pro.
