Description:
CE Desktop RLP designs microwave, millimetre-wave and mesh radio links inside ArcGIS Pro, hop by hop. RLP (Radio Links Planner) is a module of CE Desktop for ArcGIS Pro. Transmission engineers use it for operator backhaul, utility and public safety transport links, and tactical point-to-point and mesh links for defence, from licensed microwave bands up to E-band. Each link is a feature in the ArcGIS Pro project with its two sites, antenna heights, radio, frequency plan, spectrum mask and prediction model. The Profile tool draws the path over terrain, clutter and buildings with the first Fresnel zone and a clearance criterion. Engineers drag antenna heights on the plot, correct terrain values from survey data and analyse ground reflections across frequencies, antenna heights and k-factors. Link Prediction calculates power budget, receive level, fade margins, signal-to-noise ratio and bit error rate for every carrier. Availability is reported per direction, annual and worst month, for multipath (ITU-R P.530 or Vigants-Barnett, with P.453), rain (ITU-R P.837 or ESA data, ITU or Crane method) and cross-polar fading, with P.836 and P.1510. Error performance (ESR, SESR) follows ITU-T G.821 and is checked against annual and per-link objectives, with equipment availability from radio MTBF and MTTR. Protection (1+1, 1:1, M:N) and space, frequency and angle diversity are set per link, with their improvement factors in the results. Every link within a chosen radius is evaluated as an interferer with its spectrum mask, and Automatic Frequency Planning proposes carrier and polarisation by signal-to-interference ratio. Mesh Connectivity tests every node pair of mesh and MANET radios and creates the valid links. Radios (RAF), antennas (Planet, Andrew, NSMA), spectrum masks and frequency plans are kept in the project, and profile and link reports export to PDF. CE Express Connection pulls workspaces from CE Server-Express, so desktop and web planners work on the same network.
