ArcGIS GeoBIM

What's New in ArcGIS GeoBIM (February 2024 Release)

Overview

ArcGIS GeoBIM delivers an innovative, easy-to-use web-based experience for teams to collaborate on building information modeling (BIM) projects and issues in geospatial context. Architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) and operations teams can make better decisions by securely accessing up-to-date project and asset information—including 3D digital models, documentation, issues, and reality capture.

The February 2024 release brings ArcGIS GeoBIM to ArcGIS Enterprise. ArcGIS GeoBIM can now be deployed in self-hosted enterprise IT environments to meet greater security and data requirements.

Release Highlights

Now Available in ArcGIS Enterprise

Exciting news—ArcGIS GeoBIM is now fully supported to work with ArcGIS Enterprise. This means that ArcGIS GeoBIM can now be deployed in self-hosted enterprise IT environments to meet greater security and data requirements. Prior to this release, ArcGIS GeoBIM was only available on ArcGIS Online, a complete software as a service (SaaS) platform for mapping and analysis. You can now deploy ArcGIS GeoBIM in more ways to suit your organization’s needs, thanks to support for both ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.

Available with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 as a separate installation for Microsoft Windows and Linux deployments, this release of ArcGIS GeoBIM comes with minor enhancements and all functionality delivered with the November 2023 release. This includes support for field collaboration with ArcGIS Field Maps and faster georeferencing of BIM documents and issues to save users time.

What is ArcGIS Enterprise?

ArcGIS Enterprise is the complete geospatial IT system for creating, managing, mapping, analyzing, and sharing GIS data with BIM and computer-aided design (CAD). With its scalable and secure architecture, ArcGIS Enterprise is suitable for organizations of all sizes, providing a flexible and customizable solution to meet diverse business needs.

What's New in ArcGIS GeoBIM (February 2024)
ArcGIS GeoBIM is now available for ArcGIS Enterprise.

ArcGIS Enterprise serves as the backbone for running Esri’s suite of applications, such as ArcGIS GeoBIM, as well as your own custom applications. ArcGIS Enterprise is tightly integrated with ArcGIS Pro for mapping and authoring, and seamlessly connects with ArcGIS Online to share content between systems. With the February 2024 release of ArcGIS GeoBIM, ArcGIS Enterprise now connects to BIM and CAD data in Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk BIM 360.

Collaboration and flexibility are central to ArcGIS Enterprise, allowing you to organize and share your work on any device, anywhere, at any time. ArcGIS Enterprise gives you complete control over your deployment. It can be run on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes, and it supports small single-machine deployments as well as large multi-machine deployments.

ArcGIS GeoBIM and ArcGIS Enterprise

ArcGIS GeoBIM is the bridge between GIS and BIM for both ArcGIS and Autodesk users. Using ArcGIS GeoBIM, teams can incorporate geospatial information into their projects, such as site location, terrain, infrastructure, and environmental data, to improve the accuracy and completeness of their models and designs.

ArcGIS GeoBIM in ArcGIS Enterprise provides an enterprise IT solution for integrating geospatial and engineering data, enhancing collaboration, and improving decisions on AEC projects into asset operations and maintenance (O&M).
